St. Francis Rescue Nacogdoches is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. We are committed to providing the animals in our care with any and all necessary veterinary treatment, training and socialization. Any animal we take in has a home with us until adopted. We depend on donations from the public and the hard work of our volunteers in order to fulfill our mission, which is to reduce the number of abandoned or mistreated pit bulls and American bulldogs through:

  1. education: of the public, on the characteristics of these wonderful dogs; and of pit bull caretakers about the responsibilities of having this type of dog as a companion;
  2. assistance: with spay/neuter and other medical expenses for responsible owners; and
  3. rescue, rehabilitation, and placement: we foster or sponsor pit bulls in need of veterinary care, food, shelter or protection from cruelty in order to place them in responsible, loving homes. All our animals are evaluated for temperament, receive all immunizations, are microchipped, and are spayed or neutered prior to placement. Click here to see some examples of our rescue work.
